I'm a joiner...Loopy Groupies Red KAL

I tried to get a good picture of my Red Socks for the Red KAL and the Summer of Socks while we were in Seattle, but it was raining! Yarn is Sailor's Delight from Hazelknits. Pattern is Firestarter. Sorry for the poor picture.

One row scarf pictures at last!

Yes, I'm still here...

I did not make any more Sockmadness2 socks. The timing wasn't right and my desire lessened considerably.

I'm trying to decide on what sock pattern to use next for a Red KAL. Maybe Yarnissima's Firestarters or Wendy's Garden Path or Nanner socks or Cat Bordhi's Bartholomew's Tantalizing Socks. Oh, the choices! The yarn will be Hazelknit's Sailor's Delight. Yum!

I just finished a scarf - Yarn Harlot's one row scarf using a super soft cashmere/silk yarn from Skein Queen. Pictures to come.

Sockmadness2 - Round 4

I cannot believe I finished these socks! They were a real BEAR to knit! I kept telling myself to keep going and I was able to finish in time to stay in for the next round.
Something Shady Socks
Main color : purple, Cherry Tree Hill Supersock
Heel color: Apple Laine (autumn colorway I think)
Needles: size 1 (2.25mm) DPN (started with 2 circulars but they were too long and everything was tangled)
Time start to finish: 34 hours
The next round begins Sunday morning. Bad timing for me. Sigh.

Sockmadness 2 - Round 3

Yippee, I finished! Despite the family events scheduled which delayed knitting time, I made the top 12 to go on to the next round.

Slippin' Stripin' Socks

Yarn: Fearless Fibers Merino Lace
Colors: Hendrix & Rubicind
Needles: 2.25mm for cuff, 2.75mm for leg & heel and 2.5mm for foot & toe
Started: 4/10, 6 pm
Finished: 4/12, 11:50 pm

Sockmadness 2 - Round 2 - Fini!

Reversai Socks...

These were slow to knit. I finished the round 1 socks in almost exactly 48 hours. These I thought would be faster after I finished the first sock after 20 hours, but the 2nd sock was slow. Overall time for me this round was 45 hours.

Specs:
Make 1 Sock Yarn
100% Merino
2 skeins, 185 yds/50gm each
Color: forgot the name and it's not on the ball band....a dusky purple with pinkish areas.

The hardest thing about these socks is not the time or the pattern, it is having to stick exactly to the pattern. I have to not think about changing stitch count, change the heel, make a different toe, etc.

I like these socks. They are a little big, but cushy and tightly knit. They should be great to wear for a long time to come.

Tired, but finished....

This is the first time I've had second sock syndrome....but here they are:

Sock Madness round 1
Zombie Socks
Size 1 needle (2.5mm)
Lisa Souze Sock! yarn, purple/black
Time: printed out pattern 2:30 p.m on 3/13 & finished 2:30 p.m on 3/15

Notes: It's very hard knitting a dark color in the evening....I had to turn on all the lights to see properly. When trying to knit faster, I had 2 left hands! After having this yarn in my stash for so long, it was perfect for these socks!

I'm going to go rest now...

Revving up the needles....

Sockmadness 2 is starting up soon! I'm in the Baylor Ball Bands division. In light of this upcoming event, I've been finishing up a pair of Monkey socks in BFL. I just turned the heel on sock #2 so things are looking good. I've also started working on Violetta, which is pretty mindless knitting so I am using it to perfect my continental knitting. The knitting is easy, it's the purling that is messing me up, both gauge-wise and the knit yo's are kind of funky. The merino laceweight is so soft, light and fluffy that I am looking forward to the end product.

To add to my after-sockmadness2-project-to-knit-list is Magic Carpet Ride. Even though it's only March I keep thinking about the kids' Christmas stockings I promised them I'd make. We've bought the yarn and all , so it's just a matter of not forgetting to work on them well in advance of December.

FOs: I finished a secret project for a relative's birthday and was quite pleased with the results. Too bad I can't post a picture because I was also pleased that I finished one project. Okay, make that two projects. I finished Montego bay (started in October or November last year). It was nice cashmere, but the color and size were not for me. It was just right for my MIL so I gave it to her. It is so nice to see my knitted items being used/worn instead of languishing in my closet. Here it is before it was finished. Sorry no FO pic for it.

Sorry, I forgot it is 3 FO's! The third FO was Claranauch for my MIL's bday. It is a very nice pattern and I think I will make another one someday. Anyways, it's on the after-sockmadness2-project-to-knit-list.

Jumping up and down for joy....

I have so many projects in progress that to finish one is truly something to celebrate.

Presenting: Simple Knitted Bodice

Pattern: Stitch Diva's Simple Knitted Bodice by Stefanie Japel
Size knit: M (36-38)
Yarn: Queensland Collection Uruguay DK, Color 09
70% merino/20% alpaca/ 10% silk
124 yds/50 gm ball
Total used: 10 balls
Needles: size 4 and 6

This was a fast pattern to knit and it fits well. It is knit top down and despite being a raglan, looks okay on me (I have broad shoulders). I made the long sleeve version and modified it to have the sleeves taper instead of being flared. No model pic for me...I'm still in my pjs at the moment.

Go Check It Out....

Bella Knitting re-opened their online shop and it is very cool. They had a scavenger hunt and I actually found one of 3 little button and won something very handy!
